SOFIA JAZZ PEAK’2008
BuJazzO
Young German Technique Opened Sofia Jazz Peak’2008
The young musicians impressed with their strict (German-like) discipline on the stage; they played the intricate compositions with ease, worth the envy of everyone. The young orchestra members played as a well-greased music machine with a brilliantly spoiled balance. The playing of a wrong note, and a wild improvisation as well, were as if implicitly excluded.

Young Talents Opened The Spring Sofia Jazz Peak Festival
Their playing conformed to their German precision. However, it did not lack the energy inherent in this kind of music and was supplemented by the enthusiasm of the young musicians. Almost all the members of the band and the vocal group had a solo part that demonstrated their high professionalism.

AL JARREAU & GEORGE BENSON
„Al Jarreau & George Benson: Inspiration Like None Before”
For two hours and a half the two musicians were giving their best to the audience at the National Palace of Culture. When we talk of such greats as Al Jarreau and George Benson, the words are either insufficient or tag. How do you call them: “geniuses,” “titans,” “legends”? The best description of them I heard before their concert at Hall 1 of the NPC was “teachers.” That’s it. Their concert, closing the summer live music season in Sofia, was a lesson in inspiration and professionalism.

„Life Is Beautiful with Jarreau and Benson”
The lives of 4000 Bulgarians turned better after the Al Jarreau and George Benson concert at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. The sound was so beautiful and raving that the crowd forgot what part of the world they were at. Benson wasted no time talking. He only said that he was sorry for making us wait for so long. The reason, he said, was that until now he had not been contacted by a reliable local promoter. The grand concert was organized by Jazz FM radio.

The dream of a true jazz night. There was something in the air other than the eager expectation. There was a breeze from Montreux, from the stages of the great jazz festivals where truly big musicians perform.
